GREEN BAY, WI – (WGBW & WISS) – Green Bay Packers’ running back AJ Dillon and his wife, Gabrielle, launched their first Dillon Family Foundation initiative, called Carry for a Cause, presented by U.S. Venture last month.

The Carry for a Cause initiative will run throughout the 2024-25 NFL season. For every Packers home game rushing yard, Dillon Family Foundation will donate a backpack of food to a child in need.

Battling food insecurity

“It’s meant to empower families within the community,” Dillon said. “And also combat hunger and food insecurity.”

In addition to donating a backpack of food for every home game rushing yard, fans can also help by donating $28 for an extra backpack of food to donate. Or “Quad”ruple the donation at $112 and receive a Dillon Family Foundation Hat.

The Dillons are passionate about combating child hunger, as they explained during a short program at Breakthrough, a U.S. Venture company. They have a history of giving back to child hunger programs in the Wisconsin area, and this campaign will help them impact more lives.

“I like to say, you want to make the biggest impact in the world; take care of your neighbor,” Dillon said.

The couple launched the Dillon Family Foundation in July 2024 at Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, when they volunteered to package bulk cereal with their close family and friends.

“They gave us this stat that like one in five kids in Northeast Wisconsin didn’t know where their next meal was coming from, after the school year,” Dillon said. “So I said, we’ve got to do something to help this. We ended up raising like 750 thousand meals for them (Feeding America) that year.

“This is just a continuation of that, and something that we want our name to be a part of. And that we want to start within this community. For years and years to come beyond football; beyond any of that. We want to make sure that we’re helping out here.”

Dillon Family Foundation’s mission is to empower families and combat hunger in their communities. It is dedicated to providing resources, support, and opportunities that strengthen family bonds and enhance well-being.
